QANSTRU is a data-scraping API platform. We act as a technical conduit that retrieves publicly accessible information from third-party sources at the request of our users. We do not curate, host or republish scraped datasets on our own properties. This page sets out how copyright concerns are handled.
1. Copyright Infringement Claims
If you believe that publicly scraped data returned by the QANSTRU API infringes your copyright, please send our Designated Agent the following:
- Identification: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf
- Work Description: Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Location: Identification of the data and the specific API endpoint(s) returning it
- Contact Information: Your address, telephone number and email address
- Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
- Accuracy Statement: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner
2. Designated Agent
Please send DMCA notices to:
QANSTRU — DMCA Agent
Email: [email protected]
Subject Line: "DMCA Takedown Notice"
3. What We Will Do Upon Receipt
QANSTRU does not store scraped datasets on its own servers in the normal course of business; data is fetched on demand from upstream sources and returned to the requesting user. Therefore, in response to a valid DMCA notice we will typically:
- Investigate the affected endpoint(s) and target source(s)
- Where the scraped data originated from a third-party site, we may forward your notice to that source or work with you to identify an alternative remediation path
- If the scraped material was cached, republished or otherwise made available by us, we will remove or restrict access to that material
4. Counter-Notification
If you believe that your content was wrongly identified, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material and its location before any action
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a Federal District Court
5. Repeat Infringers
We may suspend or terminate accounts that are the subject of repeated, valid infringement notices.
6. No Obligation to Monitor
We do not actively monitor user API traffic for potential infringement. However, we will respond to valid DMCA notices and take appropriate action.
7. False Claims
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages. You should ensure that you have a valid claim before submitting a DMCA notice.
